ABOUT THE BOSTON AZTEC U23 RESERVE TEAMS - contact Edgar Deleon at edgardeleon@neaztec.com for info on the men and Dushawne Simpson at dushawnesimpson@neaztec.com for info on the women.
New England Aztec created reserve teams for its Boston Aztec Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL) and National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) teams in the summer of 2007. These reserve teams will provide the highest quality of training and competition to prepare our elite high school and collegiate players for their fall school seasons.
Teams are selected on a tryout basis and are open to players from the Aztec U18, U17 and U16 club teams, as well as Aztec Alumni & other area players who are currently playing in college. Tryouts will be highly competitive, and each team will have a roster of 25 players. Each player chosen is guaranteed a spot on the team for the entire season. The roster size is large enough to accommodate family conflicts that may arise throughout the summer.
The reserves supplement the pool of players for the full Boston Aztec NPSL & WPSL teams, which are comprised of players with experience at the highest levels of club, high school, college, amateur, professional and international soccer.
The women’s reserve team played in the EMWSL in 2009 and the men's team plays in the EMMSA. In 2009, both Aztec U23 teams won their respective league championships. In 2010, the Aztec U23 women will play in the WPSL.
