(Back to top) With this in mind, we place an emphasis on development with our Jr. NE Aztec teams (U9-U14). The youngest NE Aztec players first learn to develop their technical skills and their tactical awareness. As they develop both physically and mentally, they also learn to compete as hard as they can both in training and in matches. As players enter their teens, they will be properly prepared to compete for club and high school championships, while also attracting the attention of ODP coaches and college recruiters with their skill and intelligence.

Too many clubs and coaches place an incredibly high premium on winning at the youngest ages, often doing so at the expense of teaching proper technique. What good does it do to focus all of your energy on winning at age ten if, by the time you're in high school, your skills and tactical awareness aren't developed enough to crack the varsity? Our goal is to prepare our players for college, whether they play soccer in college or not. It is imperative that by the time our kids become young adults they have both the skills AND the drive to succeed in life on and off the pitch.
