What is New England Aztec?
New England Aztec is THE premier youth soccer training association North of Boston and boasts the best coaches and players in the region. A full-scale premier organization committed to giving players the opportunity to succeed at the highest levels, New England Aztec traces its roots back to 2000.

Our boys & girls youth programs include Soccer Tots, the U8 & U10 Academy, U11-U14 Junior teams, U15-U18 Premier teams, and numerous camps and clinics. We also partner with local communities as part of an ambitious Community Development program running training sessions for town players and coaches.

We also feature the Boston Aztec men's, women's, and reserve teams playing at the highest level of amateur soccer in the US. These teams have featured former professional players and provide high-level college and high school players quality competition. Currently, our men play in the NPSL, our women in the WPSL, and in 2005 the Aztec men won the PASL National Championship at the highest level of amateur indoor soccer in the country. In February 2009, the Boston Aztec women became the official reserve team affiliate of Women's Professional Soccer's Boston Breakers.

Philosophy and Results

Our coaching philosophy helps many players in the region improve as players. Aztecs have earned spots on US National, Regional, and State teams. Our players have become High School captains and all-stars, NSCAA All-Americans, and College All-Stars.

Our philosophy is simple - at the youngest ages, our focus is on teaching technique and tactics. We teach our players to compete, but without sacrificing the training they will need to succeed at the highest levels as they grow up. At the U11 & U12 age groups, some teams are simply taught how to play kick ball and run track meets to satisfy coaches and parents desires for winning. We don't operate that way and we never will.

At the U13 & U14 age groups, there is still a large development aspect to the coaching, but players are beginning to catch up in physical maturity while the earlier lessons are bearing fruit. Once you reach U15, winning is on equal footing with technical and tactical prowess. It is clear when you look at the numbers which club North of Boston is developing the best players, boys and girls, day in and day out.

Bay State club soccer players have many choices. Teams compete in Region I, Super Y, MAPLE, and MASC leagues. Most teams compete in MAPLE. Since 2004, NE Aztec teams have won 26 MAPLE Division championships - 21 from U13 & above, 15 Girls titles, 10 Boys titles, and ten total in MAPLE D1 or D2.

In the spring of 2008 from the U13-U18 age groups, NE Aztec had one state champion (U17 Girls), a state finalist (U18 boys), a state semifinalist (U14 boys), three other state cup qualifiers (two U15 Girls, U17 boys), six division champions, seven promotions and three promotion matches, and nine second place teams. Only one team had a losing record, and eleven teams qualified for MAPLE D1 or D2 in 2008-09. The overall U13-U18 record was 83-33-15. We had three teams ranked in the top five in the state and four in the top ten. Our teams also won five Memorial Weekend tournament championships and five spring tournament championships in March.

In the spring of 2009, 25 New England Aztec boys and girls teams competed in the U11-U19 age groups. 13 teams in the U13-U18 age groups played in Region I (U18G, U16G-Simpson), MAPLE D1 (U18B, U15B-Kodiat, U14B, U16G-Slack), or MAPLE D2 (U17B, U16B-Murray, U15B-Flessas, U17G, U15G-Simpson, U14G-Kersker, U13G-Macdonald), and the U19 Boys made another run in State Cup after reaching the finals as U18s. The U15-Kodiat boys won the State Championship for their age group, and the club had six other participants at State Cup (13 Boys, U18 Boys, U19 Boys, U15-Simpson Girls, U16-Simpson Girls, U18 girls).
